told u to download it 'cos u once said that u liked it..so if u forget the title after 2 days, then don't ask me.
yikes.there's a chem mcq test tmr..how come i knew nth about it prior to today? ok and i wonder how Mark's supposed to know abt tmr's mock test since he's unreachable through his handphone, and for one reason or another, he's home phone number is not in use.. This is the Singapore Telecom announcement service, the number you've just called is not in use. mehhh. anyways, i realise that i havent been keeping to schedule.. hmm.. this is bad.. and i realise that those stuff that i remember so vividly 1 week ago when i was mugging them become a tad distant after just 2 weeks. argh. poor retention rate, i have.
the problem is simple. it's a dearth of communication.

sex is an exothermic reaction and participating reactants are more stable after forming the products.
premature ejeculation is a 2nd order reaction, often forming the products even before you realise.
increasing temperature and pressure more than often lead to premature ejeculation. this can be illustrated in the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution curve. As temperature is increased, average kinectic energy of the reactants increase. So basically they move faster and the particles bang each other better if u get what i mean.
impotency is a zero order reaction, and basically that's why the reaction-time graph is downward sloping instead of upward sloping. flacid little buddy over there.
a threesome is more than often virtually impossible as a 3-person coitus would require simultaneously collision between all 3 reactants, which, in most cases, don't happen. Oh but then there's the possibility of a threesome if one of them acts as a catalyst(use your imagination! i'm sure you'll see the light.. hohoho ;D).
condoms are lousy inhibiters(they don't work all the time!).
nickel is a motel, cos through the adsorption theory, reactants meet and screw.
and finally, we have our biological catalysts! which basically equals premature labour.. hmm..
so there you have it, that's chem kinetics for you. my teacher told me to make stories up so that my data retention rate will be higher.. =p

Perhaps the most apt definition for globalization is Princess Diana's death - an English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whiskey, followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles, treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines. And this is posted on a Singaporean's blog, using Bill Gates' technology which he purportedly stole from the Japanese. And you are probably reading this on one of the IBM clones that use Taiwanese-made chips, and Korean-made monitors, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by lorries driven by Indians, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, trucked by Mexican illegal aliens, and finally sold to you.
Like UN secetary general, Kofi Annan, once said, argueing against globalization is like argueing against the laws of gravity.
Indeed, globalization is not a phenomenon as author of The Lexus and the Olive Tree, Thomas Friedman puts it. It is not just some passing trend. Today, it is an overarching international system shaping tje domestic politics and foreign relations of virtually every country, and we need to understand it as such.
Almost unnoticibly, the Mr. Ronald McDonald is colonialising our little world...Long live King Ronald McDonald!

Arghh!! 4 days anniversary of my love affair with Mr. Neck Pain. Fuck You please Fuck Off! anyway i think i made it worse when i twitched my neck the other day. My little twitch relief culminated in the pulling of some muscle inside i think. damn.. not when the A's is only a month away..and not when my sybaritic future lifestyle clings very much on this solitary certificate. so y don't u leave me alone for a month and we'll kiss and make up after the A's? how about that? seesh.
I heard today that some students will have to take 6 major papers during the O levels in a mere 2 days, a jam-packed exam schedule that may have detrimental effects on stress level and possible premature burn-outs. For an examination that could make or break a students future, such a hectic schedule should be deemed as demanding and unfair. In fact, several of these papers require alot of mugging, such as humanities..and it would be simply insane to do all 6 of them in a matter of 2 days. I'm glad that my A levels time table is rather friendly in terms of the number of papers a day. All of my different subjects take place on different days so it's distributed really well in my case.
Prom night in Dunman High was highly exciting and everyone looked forward to it. Seemingly, not many people is excited about TJ's prom at all, including me. That's weird, cos tertiary institutes have wonderful proms usually. oh well.. but i'll be attending jus to chalk up the numbers, since there's a miserable number of people going this year, and the school threatened to have no more proms for future batches if this year's prom was cancelled due to poor response. man..gotta go through all the hassle of clothes searching again. Searching for clothes for DHS's prom was extra tedious considering the fact that the dress code was absurdly restricted. So i should just settle for something simple this time.
ok England vs Austria is starting..last chance for Sven Goren Eriksson to redeem himself.

omg! i'm having a terrible neck ache that's radiating to my shoulders and back..repercussions of incessant mugging i suppose, and also becos my neck has never been in a good shape to start with. i think i need a break..but i can't afford it. should have done constant work during these 2 years so that i don't have to work my socks of right now. i'll do that when i go to the university! bleaah..ok i've been saying the saying thing about the next year since secondary 1. Some things just never change..but this agony is killing me and disrupting my concentration..friggin hell. shall go buy the neck and shoulder cream that so happen to be advertised on TV today. hopefully it works wonders like it is being claim to be able to.
man, i've been skipping school a couple of times lately, mostly becos i've been mugging late into the wee hours. amazing how the circumstances can change a person. but hey, this is the cusp of my life and my future hangs upon it haha so basically i got no choice. oh but i gotta make my decision about retaining asap cos the sooner i decide, the better. well, contemplating retention mainly boils down to inability to get 3As A1, and that's cos i'm not to certain about getting an A for Econs. I'd probably be getting AAB A1, which will see the moribund of my desired future. i figured that AAA A1 would seem nicer on paper and up my chances of qualifying for law school. Yah, so maybe i'd need that one more year to secure the A for Econs. but damn it, econs syllabus is a tad different next year, with case study and DRQ being hybridised from what i heard. Wether it's more difficult or not i don't know, but i suppose change is not always a good thing eh? now let's see, the other obvious downsides to retention would obviously be a different teacher writing my testimonial, and how much a detrimental effect it's gonna have would depends very much on how much we get to know each other in one year. But with TJ's new class system for the 2005 year 1s, whereby CTs see their students considerably lesser, i'd probably have to put in alot more effort into sucking up :p Also, new class, new classmates and all..will take abit of getting used to as well. hmm, but one of the best incentive is that i get to play in the A divisions again! i've been kinda down on lucky for the past few years cos i got injured on both occasions, one b4 the tournament and one during the first 10 minutes of the first match. so basically, it's something that's been bugging me. And Mark has also said that he'll retain with me if i decided to.. haha that's cool..at least i wont feel like im out of place should i decide to retain.
Anyway, i think i'll go down to some spa parlour or something over the weeks ends to get a good neck and back rub. need one desperately.

While the macabre scenes from the July 7th London subway bombings are still fresh in our minds, another wanton act of indiscriminate terrorism has shocked the world. Last night, 3 years after the previous bombings, several resorts at the heart of Bali was decimated by a series of cataclysmic explosions, leaving at least 25 people dead and 85 wounded. Prima facie, it may seem like another of the skilfully ochestrated attacks by Muslim radicals, the group of people we have long stereotypically associated Terrorism with, due to the expertise and malevolent influences of Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden in carryin out the September 11 attacks. Hence, racial disharmony is often one of the residual tremors of terrorism. A turban-donning, bearded man was once viewed as a run-of-the-mill sighting, but today it gets more complicated, these people would be eyed with askance by the general public today. Disconcerting, but religion has become a puppet for the terrorists to evoke widespread disharmony and spark public appraisal, which would eventually lead to more destruction and leaving behind a horrific legacy of destroyed inter-religion ties. It is therefore of paramount importance not to accuse and stereotype specific faith groups as possible perpetrators of the Bali bombings and crucify them in general as guilty-by-association, until the culprits have been identified. Even so, whichever faith groups the culprits may belong to, they are errant members and therefore should not be associated with the faith despite how much they may claim that they are carrying out the mission of their god.
No doubt, terror attacks like the Bali bombings have immediate and direct impact on the casualties and their families, but unfortunately, such attacks do not merely affect those unlucky enough to be in the blast zone, rather, the impact that terrorism has on our lives is much more colossal, much more pervasive. Wherever we live, we are affected by the threat of terrorism and by how we react to it, anticipate it and try to prevent it. Our response to the age of terrorism has altered society, sometimes subtly, at times overtly, often causing collateral damage to the way we lead our everyday lives. As such, I believe that it would take a concerted and collaborated effort by countries of the world if we were to triumph in this war against terrorism.
Perhaps the solitary most puissant tool of the terrorists is fear. For all its graphic manifestations, terror is an exercise conducted chiefly inside the head. Typically, the modus operandi of a terrorist act is such that a relatively small amount of physical damage is utilised to create disproportionate waves of fear, intimidation and widespread hysteria. From the the London bombings to the profoundly shocking ariel assualt on America by the Al Qaeda, the fear instilled still resonates in the hearts of the public, and the latest news from Bali cannot but help amplify these fears once again. Lets face it, terrorism is everywhere, has evolved and is determined to stay. The new terrorists are much more menacing, much more terrifying. No longer does he hail from the mountains of Afghanistan, instead he comes from suburban Leeds in the UK, and in his spare time, he helps out at his dad's fish and chips eatery. Terrorism today has no hierarchy, has more invisibility and more autonomy, and the new terrorist does not go for military or political targets. He wants to get YOU, the man on the streets, the innocent tourist on a vacation. This fear factor has truly entrenched itself deep in the foundations of society, but this IS the primary objective of the terrorists. It is the level of hysteria created that determines the level of success of a terrorist operation, not the amount of damage inflicted. It is also the mass alarm and fear caused that leaves the terrorists smirking when they tune into the BBC. Hence, in the process of heightening security and taking extra precautions, we should not bow and succumb to terrorism. The Londoners should continue taking the Tube, while the tourists should continue patronising Bali, for changing our lifestyles would signify submission to the terrorists, and this is what they ultimately want to achieve.
The need for heightened security has also generated a host of other challenging conundrums, with the most significant being that of Security VS Liberty. How much should heightened security be at the expanse of fundamental civil liberty such that it is justifiable? My teacher once told our class that CID officers nowadays dress in casual clothings and do random bag checks on MRT commuters, and it left me with plenty of food for thought. Firstly, such bag checks are a prima facie infringement of people's privacy, and this is a dichotomy of democracy, the ideology that Singapore is built upon. Secondly, how much of a waste of human resource is this? After all, the people are our only resourse and i'm pretty sure the CID officers would be better of cracking cases than doing bag checks. Then, there is the inevitably problem of percieved discrimination. Aforementioned, turban-donning men in robes would be eyed with askance, and so would that result in their bags being checked more often than others? And will his increased frequency of bag checks lead to him crying discrimination? And imagine the embarrassment he has to endure when the officer checks his bag infront of so many other commuters. Lastly, would checking the luggages of tourists cause them to feel disgruntled and therefore deter them from visiting again? After all, they usually have the largest bags, and according to the government, large bags are suspicious objects! Perhaps, this is the inevitable price that we have to pay in our war against terrorism.
As Justin Timberlake crisply put it, "Where is the love?" So why can't people of the world live in unconditional harmony and put an end to all the senseless carnage? Perhaps, it's really the visions of heaven that drives men to create Hell On Earth.
